π§⚡ I Made a Saltwater Battery That Lights Up an LED! | Rbot Boy
Hey fam!
Ever thought salt and water could power something?
Well... guess what? I tried it — and BOOM — I made a working saltwater battery that lit up an LED π³π‘
No big setup, no crazy parts. Just home science, full Gen Z engineering.
π§ What I Used:
-
Salt π§
-
Tap water π§
-
Two different metal plates (I used copper and aluminum)
-
Small plastic cup
-
Wires
-
One LED bulb
π ️ How I Built It:
-
Filled the cup with water and mixed in a bunch of salt. Stirred it like chai. ☕
-
Dropped in the two metal plates (they act like battery terminals).
-
Connected each plate to a wire.
-
Touched the wires to an LED… and boom π₯ — light!
-
I taped everything to hold it in place and showed off to my fam π
π What I Learned:
-
Saltwater becomes a conductor and lets electric current flow between the two metals.
-
The chemical reaction between the metals creates electricity π
-
You don’t always need batteries — just creativity + science = POWER
This was hands-down one of the coolest tiny experiments I’ve done.
It’s easy, fun, and actually works.
If you ever want to feel like a scientist + inventor, give this a shot.
Built with salt, sweat, and swag,
— Rbot Boy
